Gainey Ranch

Gainey Ranch, a mixed use luxury community, is one of Scottsdale’s most historic and well known master planned communities and is known variously as Scottsdale’s “Oasis in the Desert,” and the “Jewel of the Desert.” A resort-style community, Gainey Ranch is located in the heart of Scottsdale.

The 640-acre community was formerly an Arabian horse ranch owned by Daniel Gainey and purchased by a Canadian company, Markland Properties in 1980. Markland’s founder, James Kilday a native Minnesotan, had the vision to develop this property into a luxury resort with a small town ambience. Displaying many of the wonderful benefits of our Sonoran living, including blue skies, warmth and sunshine, the central Scottsdale location of Gainey Ranch is about as good as it gets. An abundance of shopping, recreation, fine dining are just minutes away. Excellent Scottsdale public, charter, and private schools are nearby.

With its three unique championship 9 hole golf courses, enthusiasts will find no lack of challenge at Gainey Ranch. A huge layout transformation that moved three million yards of dirt which changed a flat and semi-arid course into the beauty it is today. The courses can be combined in multiple configurations to provide a wide variety of golfing experiences. Each golf course is designed around a theme.

The 11 residential communities of Scottsdale Gainey Ranch comprise 264 acres that include 1035 residences of which 545 are condominiums. Gainey Ranch has approximately 2500 residents. 348 acres are devoted to the Shops at Gainey Ranch.

The Town Center area consists of 720,000 square feet of office buildings, professional and retail facilities, as well has the crown jewel of Scottsdale, the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa.

Situated on 27 acres, the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort is set amidst flowering Cactus and framed against the majestic McDowell Mountains. This beautiful resort is just minutes from a host of recreation and activities and yet miles from the ordinary.
